I would like some pictures, front and back, of the King-Seeley and Stewart-Warner speedometers for identification purposes, as well as wiring issues. I have searched "guages" in this forum but I have not found any pictures of these guages for what I am looking for. Thanks!

Found this...... "The "Silver Face" 0-10 speedo was built by King-Seely".....I saw this post already but I dont know what "Sliver Face" is refering to is that the part arond the cluster, or refering to the portion that the 1-9 is painted/stamped on.....thats what I dont understand and need more pics to know. Thanks!

Might try spelling it "gauges" as that is the correct spelling. I'll try and get pics of three styles tonight when I get home from work. I have the '70 and newer style, the '58-9 ish style, and one I believe is from a '57 or maybe '56.

    Here is mine. It's a 56 IIRC.

I spent a lot of time working on it getting it all back in great shape, replacing the temp and fuel guages wtih NOS ones and now I don't know if I want to use it........

Not 100% sure this is the original for my daughter's '70 but it's more like this style.

Kinda think it's a replacement. Functionally the same, but I thought the first year for the chrome ring was '73. I know that the dash style changed a lot in '73, with more chrome and a new heater panel and soft-feel knobs. Somehow I think that the gauge trim rings were black in '72 and the knobs were black plastic - and that this continued from the '70-71. Memory of this is indistinct - I saw/drove a lot of '70-72s in the day (customers cars and beach Jeeps) and I owned a '73... but I can't picture a specific incident distinctly enough to be sure.

I agree timgr, I think it is a replacement too. It's what came in the Daughter's '70 when we got it. The chrome ring and arrows for turn signals just say "newer" for some reason, but at least it gives an idea of the difference in appearance from the earlier ones. Hopefully someone with an original '70 will post a pic or chime in.

Here's another, similar but slightly different than the one Nick posted. It's got hi beam and brake lights but no amps or oil lights. Looks like the temp and fuel gauges travel the opposite directions also.

Guys, this question come up not uncommon. Can we put together a tech article or a sticky on what the different speedo's look like through the years? Maybe a tech article and include how to clean them, get the speedo working again, etc?

I would be glad to put one together if there were interest in a tech article................

Sounds great! That would help me a lot. Show different wiring and it would be a great thing!

I believe that is a SW, 12V. I'm not 100% without a little research but I believe that is what they are. And for 25 bucks, you got a great deal.
