OK, so I have used the search engine and found lots of info just not exactly what I'm looking for. My question is; I found broken teeth in the ring gear in my Dana 27. I want to rebuild the whole front end but I'm not sure where to start. So I am wondering if someone could provide me with a list of items I need to replace to properly rebuild this.

Also I am not sure if it makes a difference but I plan on putting a powertrax system in it. If i can convince my .5 that I need one that is.

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

when i go into a diff, i look at the following
#1 might as well replace all the seals you are already there
#2 bearing condition, not so much the pinion bearings if you are gonna regear it, you can reuse them"if you dont damage them taking them off" the smaller bearing isint to bad but the inboard one is usually a pressed fit.
#3 dont mix match bearing and races, they have a wear patteren, if you are gonna reuse them keep the matched up with each other.
#4 it is best if you find either a bad bearing or race to replace them as a set"bearing & its race"
#5 setting up gears to me requires you to be tedious, if you dont have the tools or the patience its best off to pay someone who does this type of work reguraly. parts in this area aint cheep, if you get it set up wrong you can easily eat up the $ they would have charged to do it. this is just my honest opion. and yes i have done it;)
