How is the fuel line and return line routed from the gas tank to the engine on a 71 Jeepster with a 225? Right now is has copper lines running down the passenger side and then running over top of the bell housing on the engine. The lines are just hanging under the Jeepster and not fastened to anything. I am going to replace them with steel line, but need to know if the lines should be fastened to the body or to the frame rail? Also, is the passenger side and over top of the bellhousing the correct path for the lines?:?

Yes it is. However the original lines were nylon so they were a little easier to route through there and it didn't take much to hold them in place, just a couple of small bend over tabs attached to the body. Just have to make sure they don't rub on anything.

So the lines were fastened to the bottom of the floor pan then? I can still see the tabs on the body above the bellhousing but the rest must have rusted off.

Yup, that'd be the ones. Can't remember how many there were, probably only a couple though.
