I was able to locate the upper hinge mounts and filler piece for my Meyer hard top doors. But have yet to locate any lower hinge mounts.

I have seen on here sometime in the past dimensions that someone had drew out, but due to my lack of search expertise can't seem to find it again.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the lower hinge mounts that attach to the tub?

I have the ability to fab up my own, and just thought it would be easier to have some dimensions before I start.

Also if I fab up some, is anyone interested in sets of these? I have the filler and top hinges for a pattern, and the bottom hinge mounts don't look too tough to build.

If there is any interest I could build extras while I am at it.

    Thanks

    MarkK

If you can make the windshield filler pieces I would be interested in a set..

I wouldn't mind having a set of lower hinges as well. I made mine out of a set of cj7 hinges .

Hi Mark I'm new. this site is awesome. I have a 1975 CJ-5 mostly original. I found a Meyers full cab and doors but no hinges. If you have a set for both doors I would be interested to buy, or learn to replicate. Also, the roof panel just lays on the windshield and soft top gutter, is there a mounting or weather seal that fit this?

    Thanks.

IIRC, I bought an aftermarket set of lowers for my Meyer top. They were Steel Horse or some other brand, like $9 for the pair. I think the listing was for '76 + up CJ with hard doors, one brand I tried you had to make a bushing for the pin as the hole in the hinge was too large, the set I bought fit perfectly. I'm almost positive it was Steel Horse black powder coated.

I am in the process of building the bottom mounts. I have the pieces cut, and just have to weld the round tube to the plate.

I can make some new ones if needed. I have a break that would bend the windshield trim, if I had too. I just have to find the time to get it done. I am going to put the top on my jeep and see how I like it before going to too much trouble.

My top needs to be painted, but looks like it is in pretty good shape. I am thinking of mounting a headliner to the top to deaden some of the sound and echo.

Has anyone done this? I am thinking a thin sheet of plywood, with some foam backed headliner glued to it. With the main purpose of sound control. Also has anyone put any carpet in these and how did that work out?

I'd be interested in a set of upper hinges and filler strips if you're still contemplating building some, or happened to have found any extra originals. I just picked up a Meyer hardtop but it only came with lower door hinge mounts.

get weld-on "lift off hinges with zerk(grease) fittings at mcmasters if orig is not your concern. they incorporate a brass, steel, or s/s pin. the orig door hinges offered by meyers and koening and kelly give to much play and lateral movement.

Looks like @MarkK was last on a year ago.
If our peers get details together I can make some drawings to use the weld on flag hinges.
