Has anyone ever seen an air conditioner installed in an early CJ5? I understand that Jeep had one available as a dealer installed accessory.

I put one from a later cj77 on my 73 cj5. I used it for a year and then sold it for a ton of cash to some guy that was restoring a cj7 that just HAD to have it.

I used the York brackets from a Gremlin to mount the York compressor to the engine.

I recall once seeing an advertisement for one is some Jeep literature but have never actually seen one. Unless one is running a hard top, it would probably never shut off-that is, unless you live in MT or some other place that actually sees winter.

Meyer half cab plus AC was the one I saw, IIRC. Southern CA.

Now that you mention it I seem to recall a Jeep advertisement too. I have all of the parts from a Jeepster and may just give it a try. I'm not real thrilled at making any more holes in the firewall though.
