how do i find out what my jeep is ? renegade or....

    All V6 CJ's had the :v6: emblems.
    The side steps were removed at some point (they all had them AFAIK)
    The Renegades all had the spare tire on the rear carrier I believe.

    The steps were standard through 1975 - yes, they all had them. Most people removed them, since they get bent easily. In '76, the step design changes.

    The Ren 1s had a tailgate but came with the Whitco tire carrier, I recall. The Ren 2s had a solid panel, as did the intermediate Rens. Not sure beyond that; the Ren package started off as a performance and appearance package, but became more of an appearance package as time went on. Jeep started adding the Ren options to the standard option list after 1972. This should be described in the Ren article on the Technical Pages.

    HaHa! Now thats funny...hmmm...maybe ill see if i can find some stickers that say prerunner edition, i like the sound of that. LOL.
