I'm looking for any help on ways to organize nut/bolts we remove for reuse when restoring our cj5. First timer father and son project and reading the excellent advice through this forum we already learned the importance of organization, documentation, pictures, a plan, a vision, etc. Any help is really appreciated. A buddy of mine also recommended that I use all new stainless nuts/bolts..If we do that, how do you know what the heck to buy? Thanks a lot. Ben and Brad.

x2 on the baggies. I use ziplock in lots of sizes. You can photo before dissambly, then drop in the pirnted photo in the baggie for refrerence. Get a sharpie and lable the bag. You can also use little bags and create "subassembley" bagies in a larger baggie.

SS bolts are not all there cracked up to be. If you forget antiseize on one and torque it down its not coming off without stripping or breaking it. SS is very prone to gauling. That being said I do have some SS bolts on my Jeep but most of them are CAD plated grade 8's. You have to remember when our jeeps were made they plated virtually no fasteners, thats why most of the older bolts are rusted together.
Ziplock bags and sharpies are your friend.

As much as possible put the fastener back where it came from. For example, when you pull the fenders put the bolts back in the threaded inserts in the tub and grill. If you must bag the bolts tape the labeled bag to the part it came from, or tie it on with zip-ties. Have a 5-gal bucket for misc brackets and what-not that you are not at risk of forgetting what they are for, but can easily be lost. Things like the steering shaft boot, various heater parts, seat belts, etc. You wouldn't believe how long it took for me to find the three plastic plugs that blank off the holes in the bottom inside of windshield frame.
