    OK OK
here are some pics I'll try to get more when i can ie when I'm not greasy.

Pump mounted Before everything went sour

Externals: broken shaft, pulley, outer pump housing, seal retainer & brass ring
    [IMG]

Internals: pump end plates w/ bearings, gears, counter shaft,
replacement of the bearings can be difficult my advice is to leave them alone if damage is not suspect because they will be destroyed during removal.

New Bearings from TIMKEN (one Torrington B-812, four Torrington B-610) New Shaft,

survey time. if possible can we find out if there is normally a screw on the bottom shaft when assembled? my pump was previously serviced but didn't have anything but a threaded hole when removed, here is a pic assembled with a screw O-ring and washer that will hopefully keep the woodruff key properly aligned in the gear.
it would be interesting to see if any pumps have screws and shims keeping everything aligned or if the hole is something else.

thanks everyone for the knowledge and support with this project.

You can probably find seals and bearings by using a micrometer to find the dimensions and checking at a bearing supply house. As for the shaft, well you're on your own.

Nice job with the rebuild...did you have to rebuild the valve assembly on the side of the reservoir? If so....did you find a gasket kit or was it a graphite type packing? Mine's starting to leak...and you're right....there are no parts from Monarch...... Thanks

my valve was leaking out of the valve shaft--

It is a simple construction. No packing, just an O-ring seal on the shaft. It turned out the 0-ring was worn on mine. I picked up two replacements at the hardware store for less than $1. I then turned a second groove in the valve shaft (metal lathe FTW again) & installed a second O-ring. Hasn't leaked since.

my valve was/ still is fine, so I've never messed with it.
please add pics of the valve if you can!
