How many people are running the Novak headers, or know much about them? The headers I have right now are the fenderwell headers that go outside the frame rails, and I was wanting a set of "blockhugger" style headers that could keep the pipes inside the frame rails so I could build a skid plate to go over the exhaust and tranny and transfer case all in one. Anyone that has these headers or know much about them, are you running dual pipes out both sides all the way to the back? Any fitment issues with the headers or with the exhaust pipes going down both sides inside the frame rails? If anyone has any pics of their headers and/or exhaust like this, please post pics too. Let me know what you think of it all. Thanks.

I had ordered the novak blockhugger for my '62 m38a1 (225 v-6) but had to return them because the Saginaw steering column would not allow them to fit. Ended up with headers which fit outside the frame rails leading to mufflers located under just behind each front tire.

I have upgraded my jeep to power steering, for what that's worth. Also, any other "blockhugger" type headers out there?

I helped Eric of Novak redesign these - finished this summer with them. I have pics on my web page of them and they are posted here. My pics are a little decieving as I have a 2" body lift and will adjust my column to fit this winter. They do work with most setups standard placement for the Saginaw setup. What we did was adjust for the motor mounts, extra clearance for the starter (it was too tight) shortened them some to allow for a better setup inside the frame.

I think they came out real good. I have a set for my rig (currently have the AA) and want them for the FI and sliders I am putting on. I will also probably put a set on my son's for sliders as well when I build it this winter.

My 57 CJ5 has a 283 chevy small block. I had to buy block huggers for it. Removed the long tubes and replaced with block huggers from Speedway motors. They fit great.
