Thought I would share the results I got from using the spray can liner on my frame. I dont have a compressor yet so I gave this a try and am VERY pleased. The feel is like 120 grit sand paper and rock hard. I used EasyOff, degreaser, then sprayed it off and wire wheeled everything I could reach. Lastly is 60 grit sandpaper to make it stick. used 4 cans at $8 a pop.
    enjoy

that looks good and you can probably touch up easily if something happens or you make changes. i think better than powder coat in that regard.nice start to your project.

Sorry I should have mentioned I got it from Lowes. I actually saw it at Harbor Freight on sale for $5.99 (after I was done of course).

Hmmm - doesn't appear to be on the Lowes or Harbor Freight web sites. Only place I found was on Amazon for $10.54 / can.

Way cool. What did you do with the rust before you topcoated it? Did you prime the frame?

I noticed that also, which is why I was surpried when I just happened upon it. Maybe call before you go down there, might be aregional thing.

No priming. I just spent alot of time wire wheeling down to bare metal. BUT keep in mind I had very little rust and what I did have was mainly surface rust. I dont know how well it would stick to primer. There were a few spots I couldnt reach too well with the wheel. But I figure if I cant reach it, I probly wont see it.:)

    Hello All,
Nice job on the frame and YES, way cheaper than powder coating.
I've been looking at this product and others for a while now (you now how long these projects can take, right?). Rust-o-leum's brand name is "Road-Warrior", Lowes has it, however you sometimes cannot find it in sotre, or on-line. I had to call Rust-o-leum and ask... went to Lowe's and spoke to the paint dept. Mang. Only then did they find it in the back of the book... HA!
The product not only sprays it rolls on too. (Like Herculiner... which is also a good product through NAPA, Carquest, Ace Hardware, etc.)
If you get to know the Paint Mang. the product lists at just under a $100. per gallon, I got a price of $85. @ cost.
I haven't chosen which product to use yet... Herculiner quote will be coming in soon... and I've got to beat the winter weather, since you should apply when temp is moderately warm. And BTW you can apply all of these products over primer.
Photos when I've got something to show.

Let us know how it holds up to having bolts and washersbeing tihgtened up against it.
