This morning my '66 tux started as usual. I drove about 10', the lights went out and the motor quit. Battery is fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

It's either spark or fuel. Check for both.

Does it turn over at all? If not, Check the ignition switch - sometimes they go bad.

If that's not it ... hmmm - lights not working as well? That leads me to think it's an electrical problem.

Do you have a meter or a test light? If so, turn the key on and trace back from the lights to see if you can tell where the circuit is broken or shorted. Also, trace back from the + side of the coil (one of the small wires on the coil) to see if you can tell where the circuit is broken or shorted.

If that all checks out, take a look at this troubleshooting guide:

My suggestion is to take another car.

And I'd start checking grounds. It seems like 99% of the time I have issues, it's the grounds...

Check the electrical diagram in the technical section, I'd say you lost the connection from the alternator to the light switch.

Is there a fusible link between the alt. and the electrical system in these things, if so that's the first thing I'd check.

I removed the battery and put it in my son's toyota. Started right up.
I haven't had time to mess with "Walt" yet but hope to this weekend. Thanks Guys. I'll let you know what I discover.
