Exhaust Pipes

    My 73 CJ5 has the exhaust coming out on both sides right under the entry. Is there any disadvantages to having these run out the back?

    You mean other than being quieter and less fumes?

    The original routing was out the back. If you have a shop bend it, they may have to try a couple of times to keep it from hitting the tire. Otherwise, no downside AFAIK.

    you may need new headers/manifolds to accomplish this. Alot of the AMC jeep side pipe kits include the "out of frame" headers, and this sounds like what you have


    I ran dual exhaust out the back using factory exhaust manifolds and it works and sounds great.
