Vacuum advance?

My vacuum advance is not working on my 71 CJ5 :v6:. I've checked every FLAPS around here but nobody list one for the :v6:. I also went through the venders in the where to find parts thread, with no luck. anybody have any clue where to get one? This is the stock points dist.

 

We went through this with another poster a few months ago.

Replace your Prestolite distributor with a Delco. Both types were used before 1971, but '71 only had the Prestolite. No one supplies Prestolite parts AFAIK. The Delco distributors are easy to get as a reman.

 

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. I have the delco distributor. I want to go HEI or Petronix, But my baby boy is due in 8 weeks so needless to say gotta pinch pennies right now.

 

Use an advance from an earlier year. 1971 is not listed presumably because the Delco distributor was not used that year. RockAuto shows a VC24A for a 1970 225.
