Can anyone tell me where to find good replacement seats for a '75 CJ5? The jeep has original low back buckets now and the passenger and rear seats are in great condition, but the side of the drivers seat is tore. I would like seats that fit the existing hardware with no modifications and would possible still operate like the originals.

AFAIK there is no one that makes replacement seats for pre-76 Jeeps that are an exact fit. All replacement seats will require some fabrication and adapting of the seat brackets. No one makes a "fold and tumble" seat for the passenger side, also AFAIK. All replacement seats have rigid backs, unless you adapt folding seats from a car.

I suggest that you take your torn seat to a good upholstery shop and have it repaired. A few here have had these seats repaired and recovered, and they look great.

Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that everything is for 76 and later models. I really would really like to keep it original, so I may try to find someone to repair the driver's seat. The fold and tumble pass. seat and rear are in great shape, but I may have to get them all done in order for them to match up.

I got seat covers from 4wd hardware I believe. They were 100 bucks for both. I am not sure if you can buy them individually or not. They are black and look absolutly amazing. They have really nice ribs in them and everything. You can't even tell they are covers, they look like new seats. I can post pics if you want.

I even remember reading on the internet about people stuffing pieces of couch cusions and the like under they're seat covers to make up for missing seat. :) I'm not a genius or anything but I'd reccomend them over reupholstering

Check with some upholstery shops. I had my seats done for $125.
