Just wondering what is the best way to install a rear seat and seatbelts into a 48 CJ2A body sitting on a 79 CJ5 frame? Do they bolt into the frame somewhere, or into just the body?

    Thanks.

Originally they had threaded holes in the body. The threads are a fine thread 1/2" or 7/16" nut welded to a reinforcing plate about the size of a playing card, and maybe 1/16" thick. These plates are welded to the reverse side of the body where the belt attaches. No direct attachment to the frame.

the aftermarket rear seats use a strap about 2" wide / 1/8" thick long enough to go from the front mount hole to the rear mount hole (holes were threaded)......seems to provide a good span across the bottom of the tub

So as long as I have a support on the underside, I should be good to go? Kind of like the rear tire mounts?
