18 wheels of love...

Ok so that doesn't apply to this thread (Kudos if you know what the title's from) but it's 6 wheels of love

But it's amazing what a couple cans of primer, khaki and flat black will do to a trailer...It had mismatched spring packs (one CJ one M100) shot shock absorbers, poorly done paint, and needs new tires still. But, it's back together. Rebuilt my old CJ front leafs with 5 extras from the rear packs just for extra strength, threw on some new RS 5000's I had, built the new hitch, and it looks and tows better. I put in new bulbs, and turned the passenger side tail light into a real tail light.

Added a roller fair lead and a meat hook



Whatchu gonna do wit all dat junk...All dat junk inside yo trunk? (Ok maybe it's not my trunk)

 

Oh yeah, I had to replace the seal in the winch, little did I know til later the fairlead and backing plate will block it off. Out comes the 2.75" hole saw to make some clearance. But waaaaait... It needs a spot for the pilot hole right?
So I weld a piece around 2" long to the backing plate which isn't really visible, and punch the hole there, stable and clean. Bam!

 

sammy ,i have metal winch line to fill that spool if you want.

Oh, and the nylon rope was to see if I welded the fairlead in the right place.. R)
