dana 27 gear numbers?

    i am changing the fluids and saw these.

    Not sure what they all mean but the 43-8. 43 ring gear teeth and 8 pinion gear teeth giving you a ratio of 5.375 (5.38).

    did they put the date on these things?
    the reason i ask is because i know this jeep left the factory in 63
    and on the big ring the first set of numbers read
    4-1-63
