When I bought my Jeep it had a header on the engine and a homemade exhaust system. I decided to get a new exhaust manifold and exhaust system from Walcks. No problems putting on the manifold but the long pipe that attaches to the down pipe off the manifold does not match up. I ran the pipe thru the trans c/m and it it about 1.75" off from the down pipe. Anyone have some suggestions? Maybe I have the wrong c/m?

had the same problem, i loosened the bolts that hold the pipe to the manifold and all was well, put the two pipes together then tightened the bolts back up, could also be damaged in shipping, poor quality, or maybe the flange wasnt welded on right, bought mine frome krage, still waiting on the clamps, hangers, gasket  the header pipe was made by walker, think the muffler was too, but the long pipe was omnix:rofl:

Thanks, I'm embarrassed that I didn't think of that. I'll try it in the morning.

I loosened the bolts on the down pipe and was able to get the long pipe on the down pipe but the flange won't tighten up flat to the manifold. I guess I need to talk to Carl Walck on Monday about the down pipe.

I have went to the local exhaust shop and have had downpipes made for $15 a pop. High quality, and can go back and show them what needs to be changed, ect..Mmost of Carl's stuff is made the same way (but he ain't local); every Jeep is different in some way and requires slight modification for things to fit most of the time. I bought some floor pans from him and I had to chop about 6 inchs off them for them to fit right.
