Can someone point me in the direction of an exploded parts diagram, specifically for the tailhousing on a 1973 Dana 20 transfer case? The ones that I keep finding are so fuzzy I can 't make out what's what. When I pulled my housing off to check the bearings, some shims and a brass coller with threaded plastic fell out, and I'm not 100% sure how is needs to be assembled. Also, how much maximum shaft play is recommended after the yolk is installed? Thanks in advance!

It goes shaft, inner bearing (the large one), speedometer drive gear (the collar that's threaded), shims, outer bearing (smaller one), yoke, yoke seal if you have one, washer, and retaining nut. That's on the shaft. Obviously the housing and races go between the inner and outer bearing with the shims and speedo drive gear inside the housing.
My fsm shows .004" to .008". I personally feel this is too much and set them at .002" as the clearance increases as the bearing and race seat together. I've done literally dozens of these transfer cases and never had a failure or problem related to bearing set up.

If you still need a diagram, send me your email via PM and I'll send you a pretty clear page from the Jeep repair manual.
