I'm swapping in a T98 behind an F134 into my 67 and have some questions maybe you guys can answer. It looks like I may have to cut the floor a little to get the trans up high enough for the crossmember to bolt up. Can anyone take a coupla pics for me showing the floorpan? I'm using a new transmisssion mount between the adapter and the crossmember and noticed its about 1/4" higher than the original, which would effectively lower the crossmember that much more. Also, did the factory use any spacer between the crossmember and the frame? I will also need to lengthen the parking brake cable, overdrive shift rod to the shifter, and the cable that goes from the bellhousing to the crossmember but not concerned about that. I'm going with the AA chain clutch so no clutch linkage worries, I just need to get the crossmember sorted out. Any input appreciated...

Thanks guys, this is just what I need. Hey Uncle Bill can you shoot a pic down in between the seats too? Also, how thick of a spacer do you have between the frame and crossmember?

Thanks again Bill..its a huge help. I actually finished it up tonite and ran it down the road; I'm tickled pink. Still have the floor pan to do so your pics come just in time .:) And, there's the matter of fabbing the overdrive linkage and mount. Got the scare of my life though- I fired it up, made sure T/C was in high, put the trans in gear and let out the clutch. NO MOVEMENT. Nada...double nada. Went over everything in my mind from the clutch to the driveshaft and couldn't come up with an answer. Started questioning my gearhead mojo for a moment until I thought of the overdrive. When I put it in I moved the shift rod ( or so I thought) so that it would be in either direct or over so I could make sure it'd move under it's own power. Got to thinkin about that so I stuck a ratchet extension onto the shift rod and nudged it back a little, climbed in and tried it again and it worked perfectly. Danged overdrive was right between direct and over. I nearly doo-doo'd my dungarees at the thought of having to tear it all down again. At any rate, the hard part is over, just a few more details and it'll be completed. Thanks again for everyone's input...

    oh thats great.
    i am glad it worked.
i've only owned one jeep and it came from the factory with the t98.
    that 1st gear is impressive.
this winter i want to have an overdrive installed.
