I'm finding a major swing on pricing for my front D-27 ring and pinion I've got. from 150 to 300.
the 150 is omix-ada and the 300 from say walcks4wd is from unknown?
Should there really be this much of a difference? I'm going to post a WTB ad as 300 is a little out of my reach..

I just picked up a 4:88 on here for $50.00 + shipping. I think you will find something with the WTB ad.

that sounds about right for the price ranges, had to put a set in my chevy pickup oh say 8 years ago, cost me $150 and did the work myself, had a small whin iin it from day 1 never got any worse or better, looking back there was a shim between the inner pinion bearing and the pinnion gear that i didnt know about at the time, prob all of what the whin was about:beer:

There is a huge difference in quality of gears hence the price differences. There can be a difference in price also depending on what kind of dealer the seller is for the supplier and that can have a difference on pricing as well. If you can find Spicer's that would be the absolute best for your application as that is OEM and they hold up the best. Not sure if Yukon makes them for the 27 but I've had good luck with those from Randy's Ring and Pinion.

Just looked and Randy's only lists 4.27's. Might call around for some good used ones at places like Border Parts in Cali, Collins Brothers, J&W, and any other places that deal in used Jeep Parts.
