VIN serial number on frame??

    I need to know if a 55 CJ5 had the serial number stamped on the frame.
    I tried the search funtion and also googled it and have not found an answer.

    It should be on the top of the frame behind the passenger front tire if I remember correctly. You may have to scrape paint and rust to find the numbers.

    I found it, thanks Bob. It is on the top frame rail, directly above the right front spring rear hangar.
