71 CJ5 power takeoff?

Hey there, new owner of a cj5, was curious if anyone knew about the PTOs on these, if ever they came from factory or only add ons, i did some searching but didnt find anything in the forums about this topic, if i missed it, please lead me to it, any help would be greatly appreciated, (also unsure yet about makes of the PTO, due to corrosion/dirt/oil etc built up) i have both front and rear PTO and BOTH WORK!!! although front shaft seal leaks pretty heavily, thanks for the time and glad to join the community of CJ5 owners!

I'm not sure if the 5's came with PTO's but I'm sure these guys can help you.

 

Yes the cj5 came with PTO's attached. The 71 model can run a PTO also, just depends on what you want to run with it. The 71 was the last year foo the dana 18 in a CJ, all the dana 18's can run a PTO and came as a factory or dealer option.

 

they also made a pto for the dana 20 it bolted to the bottom

 

hey, thanks for the info everyone! sorry i posted in the wrong forum, thought since i was only asking about info if it was factory or not and not fixing it, i was originally in the right one, my apologies, i'm still a newbie please forgive! thanks again, also im pretty skeptical my drivetrain is original, or that my body is original, since my F-head number is an early model(from the numbers i researched) but since the frame is rusted past the point of no return , i guess ill probably never know what was original!
