fender Patch Panel

    Time to start on some body work. Im not happy with the welds. When i get them knocked down i can still see the 2 parts to be joined. Am i knocking too much off or am i not running enough heat in the metal to fuse it? Im not flanging it im just butt welding it.

    X2...your weld should burn right through to the backside. Maybe not 100% of the seam burns through, but enough to know that you're getting penetration.

    Gotta be hotter & cleaner Mig dont like rust ,,, & when you weld it hotter do a stich weld (little here & a little ther) ,,, not one long weld or you will have big hole about half way though,,

    Yes ive been doing a stich weld (tack welds) I will try more heat. Thanks

    I love this board!!. I turned the heat up a tad and POW. Everythings working good now. Im almost done welding in another patch panel. Then i can slap some putty on it and call it good. Then off to the firewall.
