I'm very much new to the early CJ realm (1 week and counting). I see that some people have converted to Power Steering on their CJs, but its primarily LHD jeeps. What about RHD? I'm planning out my rebuild of a right hand drive CJ-6 and would like to convert it to power steering. I have no engine and am also looking into those options. Would that affect the power steering options?
    Thanks

I'd think you could mirror the power Saginaw steering installation if you could find the right steering gear. You'll need to remove all the Ross steering components (assuming the RHD CJ uses the Ross steering) and install the PS gear on the front right frame horn. Putting the pump on the engine is no different from a LHD installation, except that you need PS hoses that go from the pump (likely on the LH side) to the steering gear on the RH side. You can have the hoses made to your specification - ask around locally for a shop that does hydraulic work. Some parts stores can make hoses too.

I know they have RHD TJs (postal and export), I would start looking for a power steering box from one of those as a start. I think you could also use the box from a full size truck that had them mounted on the outside of the left hand rail (70s and 80s Chevy and Dodge).

Try a steering box off of a full sized Chevy pickup from the 70's, the box is mounted on the outside of the drivers frame which in essence makes it a right hand drive box. The bolt patten and everything is the same (IIRC), the mounting pads are just on the opposite side.
