Clutch Adjustment

    Ok, I put a new 401 in my 75CJ5, and the clutch engages at the very top of the pedal, and if I really get on it it will slip a bit. Do I want to shorten or lengthen the bolt (linkage) on the fork?

    Shorten it. I have about 1 inch of free play on the pedal before you start to feel some resistance from the clutch linkage. When you release the pedal to engage the clutch, mine comes up about 2 inches from the floor before the clutch starts to grab.
