55 tub on 74 frame

I might be able to pick up a 55 tub in better condition than my 74 tub. The technical library says the 55 tub should fit on my 74 frame. Will my 74 windshield fit to the 55 tub? What other differences are there? Pedals? firewall?

 

I've got a 70 tub on a 72 crame, so pretty much the same deal.

Earlier jeeps use through the floor pedal config. I do also, but it requires the early cj pedal set up. Not sure on teh windshield frame though. I would think it should fit though.

Also, on my body, the heater box is where i would assume the master cylinder would be, but I could be wrong.

I didn't do the body swap on mine, the PO did. so I dont have the fine details, but let me know if you hsve any other questions and I'll help best I can.

 

You can swap tubs but might have to fab up some of the body mounts. The '55 has the pedals through the floor, you'll need to reinforce the firewall to hang your swing pedals, the '55 had no fuse block in the firewall, and yes the windshields will interchange.

While your at it swap in some Cherokee pedals, power brake booster and hydraulic clutch set up.
