So I just received my 21 circuit EZ-wire harness last night. I am going to be installing this on a '74 CJ5. I currently don't have a turn signal switch installed. I got to thinking, and I know I could get a universal turn signal switch assembly, but then I wouldn't be able to use the wires on my newly purchased harness. Does anyone know where/how to get/hook-up a turn signal switch assembly that will mate up to my new harness so I can run the wiring from the harness? If not, it seems like I should have gone with the least amount of circuits for my harness, but I got what I did in case I add things in the future.

    Thanks,
    Scott

you simply mate the wires, switch to harness.
the harness wires will be marked
the switch will come with wiring diagram for switch wires
maybe I'm not understanding your question

I don't have any switch installed on the Jeep. I also don't have a signal lever, or connector. The new harness has a connector already wired in I think that a turn signal switch would simply plug into. I have been searching and found this: http://www.jcwhitney.com/TURN-SIGNAL-SWITCH/GP_2012153_N_111+10201+600023252_10101.jcw?reviewflag=1

Would I just hook the wires coming out of this to the connector on my new harness, and then route the other wires to each respective light? That is how it works in my head, but I am not the best with wiring. Seems simple enough. If that is true, does anyone know if the flasher in my fuse panel will make up for the missing flasher in the kit?

    Thanks,
    Scott

I used that TS (ebay chrome version) before I swapped out my steering column. You would have to cut off or remove the existing connector and just connect the wires directly. That said, you could always rig up a connector set, but you're on your own with that.

Basically, just follow the wiring diagrams, if you get stuck we can always help. But that TS will work, you might try and find the original Spartan TS, I think ebay (old) or maybe some of the specialty shops.

Some of the other guys might know better than I on where to obtain a Spartan Turn Signal.

That's the one I used. Used in semi's too. It'll last forever.

So I am in the process of installing a 21-circuit EZ-wiring harness in my '74 CJ5. I am working on the last bit, the dash work. I bought the below turn signal switch to install since my Jeep didn't have anything turn signal related:

    http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...wflag-1#review

I have the wires hooked up for each front and rear lights, but am stuck after that. The directions say to hook up a yellow wire to load, and the blue for pilot. The only signal wires on the harness left are turn signal flasher and hazard. Does anyone know which goes where??

    Thanks,
    Scott

If I read you correctly,,, the load and pilot connections will be from your turn sig sw to the flasher which is labeled "L" load and "P" pilot.

Ok, so I got the signal switch installed and tested things out. Everything flashes except the front left, which I know lit up as a parking light before hand. Also, I have no tail/park lights to speak of, front or rear. Not really sure where things went wrong, but if anyone has a guess I am open to ideas?? It is just gonna suck since I butt connected everything and will have to cut open my connections I think!!

My guess on the park/tail lights, since the lights work for other inputs is that it is not a ground, but the feed coming from the headlight switch. I put the tail/park feed on one of the middle prongs according to a diagram from another Jeepforum. That should be an easy checkout. The flasher for the front left, I am guessing either my attachment to the signal wire is bad, or to the light as I don't think there are any other connections on that circuit. For reference I hooked up my headlight switch as can be seen on the right of the below image:

    Thanks,
