Defrost Duct Seals?

    I was working on an old WS frame I have and noticed these little rubber pads added to the WS seal. They look like they are meant to help keep the defrost air going into the WS frame. Does anyone know if these were from the factory this way, or just a good idea from the PO?

    Pretty sure all there was from the factory was the rubber cowl gasket/ seal..
