  1. alright i just pulled my tcase and it is a big hole, 1 1/4" intermediate shaft. i have a spare but of coarse it is a small hole, 1 1/8" shaft. my question is, can i use the gears in my spare case in the one i just pulled from the jeep? even though the different shaft diameter.

You most likely can if you have the 1 1/8 gear bored out to the same size as the 1 1/4 intermediate gear is.

Yes you can. The intermediate gear has the same id and width between the 1 1/4" and 1 1/8" intermediate shaft cases. It's the WW2 flatties with teh 27 tooth input and 3/4" intermediate that won't interchange. You will need to use the bearings and thrust washers that match the shaft diameter you are using.
