Anyone out there know what size wheels/tires came from the factory on a 75 CJ5? I'm currently running 15"x7" 'wagon wheels' with 31"x10.5" BFG All Terrains, 3.73 gears, and want to calculate my speedometer error.

    Thanks,

15x6 steel wheels or optional 15x7 alloy 5-slots. H78-15 tires were the standard tires, which were roughly 28" diameter.

No wonder my speedo is off with 538's and and 35" tires.

Thanks. Looks like 4.10 gears will get me as close to accurate as possible without re-calibrating my speedo. Anyone know of a source for the original 5-slot alloy wheels?

I don't think you'll be happy going only to 4.10's. Not really a big change from 3.73's. It may get your speedo closer, but in terms of on road driving, they won't drive much better than the 3.73's. If you are going through the expense to regear, I think you'd be much happier with 4.27's or 4.56's. But that's just my opinion.
