    Hello All
This is my first post as I am new to the forum. I have been a jeep fan for many years.
I do need a little help if someone would be so kind. I recently purchased a 72 CJ5 ,originally had a V8 ,but some one remove it and installed a Chevy inline 6, probably a 235 or 250. The problem is the motor mounts are rigged up junk , are there any mounts available for this engine.
    Thanks
    Herb

The only source for the factory mounts is another Jeep, either in a wrecking yard or from someone parting out a Jeep.

You might be able to use something like Novak's engine mounts. http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/engine_mounts/mmx-nc1.htm You could call Novak and ask them how well the V8 mounts would work for an inline 6.

Another possibility is to go to your local junk yard and cut some frame towers off of a Chevy with this engine. You'd then have to modify and weld in these mounts to support the engine.

The 235 is a very old design that was replaced in the 50s (?), and it's unlikely that's what you have. More likely you have the 230 or 250, which were used in passenger cars and trucks from the 60s through the early 80s. These are good engines, but an unlikely choice for swapping into a '72 CJ.

    Welcome from Boston!
