Trying to re-curve my HEI this morning and snapped off one of the bushing pins that hold the weights. Pretty sure this is part of the drive shaft, yes? Going to head to the pick-n-pull for an emergency replacement. For interchange, will V6 and V8 shafts swap?

I don't think so. The V6 shaft has 3 lobe cam. The cam is a hard part of the shaft.

Dammut. I looked around the boneyard for 30min today and the only 6cyl HEI had the electronic spark.

Anyone know if I can buy a replacement odd fire shaft (or even and I'll grind it) or buy just the insert pins that hold the bushings? This one part not much bigger than a grain of rice has downed the whole JEEP!

I know that this is an old thread, but I'm now looking for the same part on my odd fire HEI. I could easily press in a new pin if I could find one. My guess is that all GM HEI weight pins are the same and it is a common wear part. Why then is it so hard to find on-line?
