    Anybody have suggestions for a respectable looking method to plug the heater outlets on a 258 engine? I'm not installing the heater at this time and am trying to find something better looking that a piece of heater hose with a bolt clamped in the end. Thanks :?

    You mean between the water pump and the thermostat housing? Why don't you connect the two via a short length of heater hose so water still circulates? I wouldn't block either of them, I would connect them.

    I guess that would look respectable. Funny how an obvious solution escapes me when I'm focusing on some other style fix.
    Thanks for the suggestion.:coffee:

    You actually need that circulation to keep the t-stat working right.

    I would definitely connect them. I've been told, like hudsonhawk said, that flow between those ports is necessary for proper cooling system operation.

    OK I'm sold! I'll connect the engine two hose connections together. I'm not one to ignore reasonable advice.
    Thanks again :coffee::coffee:
