Completing re-build on a 225 Odd fire, one connecting rod is not usable. Would like to buy one connecting rod and six non-bead type valve retainers if anyone would be willing to sell those items. Cannot find them anywhere from any parts places. Thanks from a "new" Jeepster re-builder.

    Hi Forrest,
Welcome to the page. I would request that you take time to acquaint yourself with our ways of doing things here.

Ads for sale or wanted to buy are to be posted in our classified ads.

Forrest, it may be gaming the rules a bit, but... I think it's ok to ask "where can I find the parts I'm looking for" (maybe with a little explanation that you've looked in the usual places). I think you ran afoul of the rules when you solicited directly to the board, ie "anyone willing to sell <some items>."

There are a couple of vendors that specialize in Buick parts that might be able to help you ... their names escape me at the moment, but someone here will know.

You can still place an ad in the classifieds ...

    hth!

Might be able to help with the connecting rod, I'll see what I can dig up. If I do have one it'll be new, not used. Do you have any pictures of the valve retainers? Might be able to help out with those too.

I went through a complete overhaul and mod on my 225 not too long ago.

Don't have web sites book marked but you can allways google..

The Buick Farm, good site for NOS bucik parts reference 64-66 Skylark when searching.

I managed to find a few thing from TA performance also

Actually found the best match of new Push Rods from Napa beleive it or not. Everyone elses push rods did not match in length and where self oiling.

Also for some odd stuff here and there don't forget Jeepsteerpartsdude. I don't think he sells any motor rebuild parts though.

Good luck, I went through a ton of pain and hassle building my engine back with Brand new parts all the way around.
