    The large gear (46) that slides in the case to dis/engage the front driveshaft, is it only supposed to make partial contact with the intermediate gear(36)?. Mine slides all the way back, but only half the gear makes contact before the shift fork/rail makes contact with the case. What gives?

    Should make full contact. Is it possible you got the shift rail in backwards or have the shift rails swapped?
