I think I burned up my freashly rebuilt motor because my stock 2 core radiator plugged up shortly after breaking in the new 225 engine. For $180 I had my old radiator recored to a three row. I don't want to take any chances with the second rebuild. I had the old radiator flow tested before running the first rebuild, worked ok for a few months a then it started to over heat on a long trip. Pulled the thermostat and still running hot, tryed to limp home a few miles at a time, big mistake. Made it home with the engine knocking, expensive. I would suggest a quality rebuild if you can aford it.

I have heard a Fiero radiator is a good swap for a V-6 CJ. They are aluminum too, which dissipates heat much faster than old school copper and brass types. Also, always run a thermostat. Removing it entirely will not let the coolant be held long enough to actually cool down. Will actually make one run hotter. Good electric fan with a temp sensor is also a plus.

wow that is a lot of money. did you shop around? I just had my 2 core recored with a 3 core for $180 including tax. I may just be lucky. cant wait untill it gets hot out to see how the 3 core works in 100 degree weather in redding calif. , it gets hot here.
