I have recently purchased a 1960 cj5 willys that is red, and it is the original color. The paint code tag is gone. I would like to know how to get some paint that is the right color?

SEARCH button is your friend, friend.

You will have to have it mixed up, most people jsut bite the bullet and get something close. Others like myself, choose to use Tractor paint, or RustOleum.

But like i said, search, youll find a few old threads on it, complete with paint codes to take to your local supplier to get the right match.

On that note: Welcome to the forums.... its customary to post pics of your jeep.....

Here are some pictures of my 60' cj5. It is kind of rough , but there is absolutely no rust and it is all original, also only cost me 750.00 and it runs great. My twin brother and I purchased a 69' Kaiser cj5 about 15 years ago that we have finally got back to original condition. It has the 225 v6 and is in almost mint condition. I wanted a jeep for myself so I traded a junk trailer for a 53' M38-A1. It had alot of rust but the running gear was in perfect condition. It also has a Japan Ordinance Command plate on the rear differential housing. I have decided not to concentrate on restoring it and instead restoring the 60' model Willys. I am going to put the Willys body on the M38 frame, it has 538 gears that I like better than the 373,s. I switched the carbs of the 2 jeeps to get the Willys to run. It worked great.
