Can anyone give me some tips on where to find a new/used steering column for my 74 CJ? I have a Chev Monza in it now, and would like to restore to a more original conditiion.

Ebay is a good suggestion, but that's not the right column for a '74. I'd try posting a want-to-buy (WTB) ad here and on WillysTech. You want a column for an intermediate Jeep, 1972-75. The Postal Jeep column is similar - same wheel, same tube size - but I don't know if the length is exactly the same as the intermediates. If not, I'm sure you could make it work. The Postal columns are popular for Saginaw conversions in earlier models.

If you want to pay top dollar, try J&W in Antelope, CA or Scotty's in Fontana CA. These jeep wrecking yards will have one for you.

Tell me about your Monza column? Is it a tilt? If so, I might swap you for my stock 74 unit with the bus wheel!

I've got a used column that I'm willing to part with. Previous owner has changed the location of the dash mounting plate, but it can be re-positioned with a bit of cutting and welding...or you can leave it as-is. It seems as it the mod was done to put the wheel lower and closer to the dash. One side-effect of this is that the steering shaft between the column and steering gear was shortened also.
