You should be able to use your original crossmember. i installed a T98/18 in my CJ and had the original crossmebmer for the application. turns out it is identical tothe one i had, just had a tranny mount just behind the hump. it will be a few days for pics since i do not have internet at home yet :(

Did you use the Stabilizer stud as well or just the Tranny Mount?

I am not sure bout the Dana 20. Did it use a large donut for the mount to the Dana 20 to the crossmember?? I know the 18 had a donut, and it was used in the same position. so since the 20 is pretty much the same (except for centered rear output and a few other differnces) i think the stud would be used in the same place.

I am in the process of installing a T-18 in my 74. I had to go with a different trans mount (R&P 4wd parts) and drilled the stabilizer mount for the bolt hole pattern. My T-18 is a Jeep tranny adapted by the PO for the CJ. Im using the original crossmember w/ minor mods for attachment to the trans mount.

I have a T18 in my '74 with a 360. Original cross member works, but with trans mount, it sits too high and the motor points down in the front which screws up the alignment with the fan shroud. So, I put a couple of plates between the crossmember and frame (about 5/8"). It is ok, but I'd like to find a shorter transmission mount. I have the torque stud mounted too, but I needed that extra 5/8" worth of washers for it to mount properly to the crossmember.

The adapter plate to the D20 is factory installed on Jeep T18s. -- not sure on the Fords.
