I am installing a Felpro head gasket on my F-134 engine and I am not sure which side should face the head. One side of the gasket is solid metal and the other is the soft gasket material. Am I correct in assuming the solid metal side faces the head? It seems that it is way too much trouble for Felpro to mark the gasket or include instructions to install.

searched some back threads and find varrying answers. Quote "Carl Walck sez aluminum side down and dry" Unquote. Another thread said Felpro told him to use Hightack both sides. My FSM sez to use Perfect Seal Aerosol spray Sealer part no. 994757 on many gaskets including head gasket to insure against vacuum, oil, gasoline, and water leaks. Does not indicate manuf of gasket.
