I might be able to get an Offy 360 "eqal-flow" for my 225 OF. According to my research the 360 doesn't make power until 2000 on up to 7000rpm. I really do not plan on revving this engine that high and the 2000 low end is still too high for the daily driving and midwest trail wheeling I plan on doing. I think a cam/manifold package with an rpm range of idle to 4500rpm redline will be more practical. Is this manifold really a good match for my intended use? or am I wrong on my assumption about this intake. I have searched this site but I can't find the answer to my question.

Not sure about that manifold, but I used a Offenhauser dual port 360 intake on a 72 304. It made great torque and power down low in the rpms. I would recommend it for a 304 especially if it is a dual port. I don't know how well it would work on your 225. My 225 has a weind intake.

My Dad is running an Offy 360 split port on his 225 with a Holley 390. Runs like a charm....

The dual port is a lower rpm manifold than the equal-flo, the dual port is a dual plane mfld.

the one Offy you looking at must be an open pelum, IDK (no split floor)that is a fast rpm piece. you need a dual pelum to make low speed tq.I have a 360* on mine ,no problems.on my Olds I made 98bls more tq with a dual plane than an open pelum manifold..

cj5/442 thats what I an saying , unfortunately just saying you have an Offy 360 doesn't mean anything. There are several types of Offy 360 manifolds. IIRC they make the 360 in a Dual-port, Equal-flow, and a Tuned port, all with different rpm ranges.

Ggg, a equal -flow must be an open pelum . not good for low speed air .

From what I can tell the equal-flow is a single plane with a divider. I agree a single plane is designed for mid to high end performance. What manifolds work well on this engine for low end? Don't get me wrong I am familiar with the principals involved, but it has been a lot of years since I have built a gas engine. I have spent most of my time wrenching on diesels, not a lot transfers between the two.
I have decided the equal-flow is not for me.
