Seat belts

    Did the 73 CJ come with seat belt? I bought mine when it was 4 years old and can't remember if it had any at the time. Just trying to figure out if they are a required item.:?

    As I recall, '66 was the year all production vehicles were required to have seat belts. Not sure if the jeep/utility group was part of that legislation.

    My 73 didn't have any when I bought it 2 years ago, but it was a farm jeep and has a glass tub on it, so who knows what they did.
    I bought some simple lap belts off of ebay and just bolted them in using the same bolts that hold down the rear seat brackets. Work pretty good, did the same in the back, just one big belt though.
