I have access to a pair of stock D35 axles out of a 1988 Jeep Wrangler. Is it possible, without too much work, to swap out. I have a 1970 cj5 with buick 225, T14a, model 20 tc, rear d44, f d27.. Is it even worth it. I was looking at the width as an advantage, as well as the disk brakes.. Thanks

Not worth it at all. Your 44 is much stronger. Along with the fact the YJ has a different wheel bolt pattern.

The front D30 center section is on the wrong side for your CJ, and the rear 35 is a downgrade compared to your 44.

Not to mention a centered rear diff on the 35. A 1970 could have a flanged Dana 44, even if it's two piece the overall axle construction is MUCH stronger than a D35 axle.

A dana 35 is practically an over glorified golf cart axle, stick with the 44, and 27.
