CJ6 and tailgate?

    Hi there,

    Mapping out how to restore Oscar's cancerous body. Currently, Oscar has a solid panel rear-end. Was 1974 CJ6 available with the tailgate feature? At this point the tailgate would appear to be most practical, but I do to want to deviate too far from original. All replies would be appreciated!

    I've never seen a CJ-6 with a solid back panel - I've only seen them on CJ-5s. Every CJ-6 I've seen has had a tailgate. The solid back panel was an optional feature, and the tailgate was standard. The question would not be was the tailgate available, but instead, was the solid back panel available? Apparently it was.

    My 74 CJ6 had a tail gate. It came off easily and made a great sled!
