I was reading some of the threads on the power steering conversion for the CJ7's. I have a 66 CJ5 with the 225 V6 dauntless. What would i need to convert it over and how easy of job is it to do? Do you have to alter anything in the process?

Advanced Adapters also makes mounts, maybe a kit, haven't looked in a while.

Over all your going to need the steering box, pump, engine brackets, hoses and some steering shaft adapters.

Assuming you still have the bellcrank, Ross steering box, you'll need the power steering pump brackets (I used the one from an '86 Buick Skylark), power steering pump & resevoir, a power steering box, a new drag link, possibly new tie rod, new shaft to connect the steering column to the steering box. It's mostly bolt on but you'll need a welder to mount a plate for your steering box to mount to the frame. Novak conversons has some good tech info as well as Advanced Adapters. It's been covered thoroughly in tis forum too. Use the Search function.

Some guys run a hose thru the grill but there is really no need to do that. It will fit without doing that it just takes a little more work to set it up.
