Soft top fitment ?

    Is there a quick easy way to tell the difference between a 55 to 75 top and a 76 and up? I found a used top but the owner doesn't know what year its from.

    Angle of the door maybe? The windshield on the later top tilts back more, and the sides tilt in, making the glass a trapezoid instead of a rectangle. Other than that, the length or width of the top cloth? It's all about the different windshield - they are otherwise the same.

    Also - make sure it's for a CJ-5 and not a CJ-7 or Wrangler. You will be able to tell this from the shape of the bottom of the door.

    Width of the top at the WS frame could be measured. That information is floating around, probably on Bestop's website I think.
