    6 volt Alternator conversion completed- pics

    I've been tossing around the idea of converting to an alternator to replace the inop generator. So here's what I came up with;
    see anything wrong? Other than the belt isn't 100% lined up.

    Looks good to me but I would grind the back of the housing and space washer the front to get that baby lined up perfectly.. It will wear out the sides of the belt (eventually) causing it to slip.

    Yes shims are in it's future, but nobody caught the 6 volt battery in the picture!

    I installed a 6volt conversion voltage regulator in the rebuilt 10SI alternator, it cranks out 7.5v, was a one wire setup so simplicity is the name of the game.
    I had just spent a bundle on new battery, headlights, gauges for the 3B and didn't want to add them to the scrap heap just yet.
