    Hello!
Piney Mama and I are rebuilding "Oscar", our '74 CJ6. We are in need of a replacement underdash combination radio mount and speaker mount. Might anyone be able to point us toward a source of these (original or reproduction) or give us an idea on how to fabricate this item?
    Many thanks! Ed

Try "J&W Auto Wreckers". They are located near Sacramento, CA.
You can also try "Collins Brothers", located in Texas.
Another place to try would be "Obsolete Willys and Jeep Parts", no website, phone 941-756-7844 (located in Florida).
I remember what the piece looks like, would have a picture of it in 1975 sales brochure.
Probably made out of some type of plastic. A good fiberglass shop should be able to make one, but be prepared to pay.

Under-dash mounting brackets for radios used to be a standard item. Take a look at places like Parts Express or Crutchfield as possible sources - try "car audio" on Google.

If you want the genuine Jeep under-dash radio, you can try the Jeep junkyards that tommycj listed, or maybe eBay. Finding a working one will likely not be an easy item to find.

Car toys sells the under dash radio mount for like 20 bucks. you can also pick it up at places like best buy, circuit city, or any where that does radio installs. the only issue that i have in my 74 cj5 is that there is really no where good to mount it. I mounted mine under the in dash cut out and only the front can bolt in which leaves the rear dangling under the cowl fresh air intake drain. i had to replace the hard drain hose with a flat hot tube hose in order to fit it. Im now having to look at modifying the cowl fresh air intake box to accomidate the in dash mount for more stability or finding a center console w/ built in radio that will fit in the tub.
