I was working on Oscar (our 1974 CJ6) today and was able to identify a part from our CJ6's hardtop that is missing. Specifically, I am in need of one of the quarter inch diameter rods that connects to the latch handle and protrudes beyond the hatch frame. The top is a "Jeep Special Equipment" hardtop manufactured for Jeep by the Orrville Products Co. I would suspect that this part would be interchangeable between a CJ5 or 6. If anyone can point me to a supplier of this part, or would be willing to "give-up" a spare part from their parts bin, I would be very appreciative.
    Thanks, Ed

Probably could make out of a hood prop, not to complicated.

Turns out there are 2 style of these latch rods. I am also missing a latch rod on the '79 top I put on my '83. I have 2 rear hatches at my dads in NY so I grabbed one of the rods from a '73 hatch. The '73(actually both hatches at my dads had the same rods) latch rod is 3/8" diameter and 18.5" long. The '79 top has the 1/4" rods with bends in them. Here are a couple of pictures of the rods(hope the pics aren't to big).
